This paragraph gives an overview about all impor-
tant security advices which help to en sure the opti-
mal protection of the personnel as well as the safe
and trouble-free operation of the endoscope.
Additionally, the different chapters contain concrete
security advices that are marked with symbols in
order to avert immediate danger. Furthermore, all
pictograms, stickers and labels on the appliance
must be observed and have to be kept legible.
1. General Aspects
• The endoscope was developed and fabricated
according to the technical norms and standards
that have been valid at that time and is consid-
ered to be operationally re liable. Nevertheless,
the endoscope can present a danger when it
is not used as intended or in an inappropriate
way by non-qualified personnel. Please take
care that any person using the endoscope or
carrying out maintenance work carefully reads
these operating instructions and understands all
information given in there prior to its first use.
• Any modification of the endoscope is strictly
forbidden.
• All security advices, warning and operation
notices on the endoscope have to be kept leg-
ible. Replace all damaged labels or stickers.
• All indications concerning setting values and
setting ranges must be observed.
2. Operator’s
Liability
• Keep the operating instructions always together
with the endoscope.
• The endoscope must only be used if it is techni-
cally faultless and operationally reliable.
• All security devices must always be within reach
and should be checked regularly.
• Apart from the safety advices given in these
operating instructions, the user of this tool has
to observe and respect the safety regulations,
regulations for the prevention of accidents and
regulations for environmental protection being
valid for the application area of this tool.
3. Appropriate Use
Operational safety can only be guaran-
teed, if the tool is used as intended and in
compliance with the indications given in
the operating instructions. Apart from the safety
advices given in these operating instructions, the
general safety regulations, regulations for the pre-
vention of accidents and regulations for environ-
mental protection being valid for the application
area of this endoscope have also to be observed
and respected.
Tools have to be used, inspected and main tained
always in compliance with the respective local,
state, national or federal regulations.
• This endoscope has been designed for the dam-
age diagnosis in areas with restricted access,
e.g. for gear damage, wear marks, wear of the
axles, cylinder wall / piston head, valves, hollow
spaces, hollow shanks, sliding-roof, cavities and
brake linings.
This endoscope must not be used for
medical purposes.
• Do not use the endoscope for looking at light
sources (risk of dazzling).
For the safe use:
Bending or twisting the endoscope too
much can provoke damages of the optical
fibre bundle (minimum bending radius 30
mm).
• The endoscope probe is water-proof and is suit-
able for short time use in water, oil and petrol.
The eyepiece is not water-proof.
• Never expose the endoscope to temperatures
outside the range of –20 °C to +55 °C; only
within this temperature range the perfect func-
tioning is guaranteed.
• Do not expose the endoscope to shocks or
impacts.
• The perfect functioning of the endoscope can
only be guaranteed when original spare parts
are used.
• It is recommended to store the endoscope in its
storage box in order to prevent damage or soil-
ing.
