CLEANING AND STORING YOUR CHAIN SAW
• Thoroughly clean the machine.
• Store the machine in a dry location and out of the reach of children and other
unauthorized persons.
• Allow the motor to cool down before placing the implement in a closed room.
• Do not wrap chain saw in nylon or plastic bags, as this could result in the
formation of moisture or mildew.
MAINTENANCE
The following suggestions deal with the daily maintenance of the chainsaw. If
they are not fully understood, contact an authorised service centre.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the
manufacturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
1) Ensure that the electric power lead is not damaged.
2) Ensure that the motor and air slots are free and unobstructed.
3) Check that the lubrication system is adequate.
4) Clean the chain brake and ensure that it works properly.
5) Turn the bar over every day.
6) Check the bar wear.
7) Ensure that the oil flow hole is unobstructed.
8) Clean the chain guide on the bar.
9) Check the chain tension, sharpen the blades and check their conditions
eventually removing irregularities.
10) Check the guide bar sprocket conditions.
11) Ensure that the oil reservoir and the oil filter are clean.
12) Clean guide bar before use. Follow instructions for removing and installing
guide bar and saw chain. Remove guide bar and clean groove of the guide
bar with a small screwdriver. Clean oil holes with a wire. Check the sprocket
and the clutch and clean the bar mount area before installing the bar. Guide
bar with sprocket nose should be lubricated with grease using a lubricating
syringe. Invert the symmetrically shaped guide bar every 8 working hours or
each time the chain is removed to ensure uniform wear. Check the bar rails
frequently for wear and remove burs and square up the rails using a flat file.
Clean the oiler port on the saw every time the saw chain and guide bar are
removed.
13) A damaged drive sprocket will cause premature wear or damage of the
chainsaw. Check the sprocket when installing a new chain. When outer
diameter of sprocket is worn 0.020" (0.5 mm) or more, replace it. Always
clean sprocket, clutch and bar mount area before installing guide bar.
This chainsaw meets all current legislation requirements, in order to avoid
injuries while repairing; every repairing has to be done by qualified staff in an
authorized service centre.

CHAIN SHARPENING
1) Disconnect the cord from the mains supply.
2) Wear protective gloves.
3) Ensure the chain is correctly tensioned and not too loose.
4) Engage the chain brake (6) to block the chain on the bar when sharpening.
5) Use a round file for chain sharpening, diameter equivalent to 1.1 times the
cutting tooth depth.
6) File at a horizontal angle, 35° to the bar.
7) File from inside towards outside of the tooth only.
