Note: When the processor card is installed as part of a Dual Router upgrade, the console name
and the two fader channels that the card controls should be written on the label on the
TINI’s antistatic bag. Use this information to verify each processor card’s assignments
during configuration.
5.
Click Inspect to inspect the NetWave and Dual Router panels. The information line shows Done when
the inspection completes.
6.
Click Continue to move to the window showing the inspection results.
7.
With a new console, there are no slot conflicts or critical issues, so click Accept. After a few seconds
(depending upon how large the community is) the console name appears as a new community member
in the Community Explorer pane, along the left side of the VMCC window. This pane shows each
device in the VistaMax community.
Edit the Device Settings
1.
If the new console name is not selected in the Community Explorer pane, click once on its name to
select it. The right editing pane shows the device settings for the new NetWave console (Figure 4-5).

2.
Create a unique name for the console (such as “PROD_1”), since each size frame has the same default
name. The Device Name can have up to 10 alphanumeric characters. Spaces are not allowed, so use an
underscore to separate words (as in “PROD_1”).
3.
Verify that the parent device information is correctly entered, since this information sets the source and
destination signal numbers assigned to that NetWave console.

•

If needed, click the down arrow to show any available Parent Device, Hub Slot #, or Hub Facet #. If
the information is incorrect, the console does not receive the correct audio signals and audio signals
from the console do not route correctly. When the console is inspected in VMCC, this information should
already be set correctly.
4.
If a Link Plus Activation PROM has been installed, select the Link Plus Activation Enable check box,
which adds four dual mix-minus signals to the source list for the console. On NetWave-24 consoles,
these four mix-minus signals replace the audio sources from channels 21 – 24.
5.
Assign a unique Device Number to this console. The NetManager and VistaVue software use this
Device Number to identify that the NetWave signals are on a “separate device,” even though the
NetWave console as just another I/O card to the actual parent device. Valid NetWave device numbers
range from 65 to 256.
