Section 4 - Linked NetWave Consoles
This section covers these aspects of linked NetWave consoles, which are NetWave consoles connected to a
VistaMax audio management system:

Two monitor control panel labels (VistaMax Enabled and VistaMax Linked) light up when the NetWave
console is properly linked with a VistaMax system. If the two labels are not lit, the NetWave is not properly
linked to a VistaMax system Hub card facet. Setup, configuration, and use information in this section only
applies to NetWave consoles that are properly linked with a VistaMax system.
NetWave Linking
To link a NetWave console to a VistaMax system, follow this process:
1.
Install a Link Activation kit (PRE99-1425 Link Activation or PRE99-1426 Link Plus Activation). When the
console is powered back up after the kit is installed, the monitor control panel’s VistaMax Enabled label
is lit to indicate the kit was properly installed.
2.
Physically link the NetWave to an available facet on a Hub card in a VistaMax, Envoy, or VMConnect card
frame. That device is the NetWave console’s “parent” in the VistaMax system, controlling the signal
routing to and from that console. To link the console, connect the rear panel RJ-45 VistaMax Link jack
(next to the power connector – Figure 4-1) to an available Hub card facet using a CAT-5e or CAT-6
crossover cable. Cable runs of up to 300 feet [100M] are supported. When the VistaMax Link jack is
connected to the Hub card, a second monitor control panel label, VistaMax Linked, lights to indicate
that a good connection has been established with the Hub card.

With both labels lit, you can configure the NetWave console signals using VistaMax Control Center
(VMCC), which involves
a.
Naming the NetWave’s audio sources.
b.
Selecting which of these signals should be added to community member include lists.
c.
Configuring any Dual Router panels that are installed in the console.
The VistaMax system devices must be running 500-series (build 501.70 or later) operating system code; the
VistaMax Control Center (VMCC) setup software must be Version 2.0, build 2092, or later; and Community
Monitor (CM) must be Version 3.100 or be running any version of the combined NetManager/Community
Monitor.
If the VistaMax system is new, all these steps should be correct. But, when the NetWave console is being
added to an existing VistaMax system, the system devices may be running older operating system code. The
current version for each of these programs can be downloaded from the Harris Broadcast Customer Portal
