1. Disconnect the mains plug
from the socket.
2. Let the kettle cool down com-
pletely.
3. Wipe the appliance surface
with a lightly moistened cloth.
Use a small amount of wash-
ing-up liquid for stubborn soil-
ing.
4. Wipe the underside of the ket-
tle with a dry cloth.
5. Make sure that the electrical
contacts on the underside of
the kettle and on the base do
not become wet.
6. Rinse the inside of the kettle
with fresh tap water.
7. Thoroughly dry all parts after
cleaning.
Decalcification

Improper use of the appli-

Heat and pour away at
least one full batch of wa-
ter after descaling.
Depending on water hardness,
limescale may form inside the
kettle. You must descale the ap-
pliance if the inner walls or the
hotplate on the base of the kettle
show visible limescale deposits.
1. Mix ½ a litre of water with 2 ta-
blespoons of citric acid.
2. Allow the mixture to come to
the boil.
3. Dispose of the mixture. Do not
pour it into an enamelled sink.
4. Rinse the kettle out thoroughly
with cold water.
5. Thoroughly dry all parts after
cleaning.
6. Heat a complete jugful and
then tip the water away.
Storing
• If you are not going to use the
kettle for an extended period,
store it carefully.
• Make sure that the kettle is
disconnected from the mains
and is completely dry.
• Store the kettle in a cool, dry
place.
• Make sure that the kettle is out
of the reach of children.
