lights up in the cooking zone displays
(5) as long as the cooking zone is still hot (>
50°C). This helps warn you against potential-
ly being burned and lets you know that there
is still residual heat that can be used, for ex-
ample, for warming up a pot or melting fat.
CAUTION!
Risk of burns!
If a power failure occurs, the residual
heat indicator will go out and may not
indicate the presence of residual heat!

Do not touch a hot cooking zone af-
ter a power failure.
Automatic reduction in
heating level
A
This function can be useful when making
dishes which need to be cooked on high heat
at the beginning and then later on low heat
and which do not need to be constantly mon-
itored (e.g. beef ragout).
It initially heats up the relevant cooking zone
and then automatically reduces the temper-
ature to the preselected heating level after a
certain time.
This function is not suitable:
– when braised or steamed dishes need
to be turned over, stirred, or when water
needs to be added to them.
– when cooking dumplings or pasta in a larg-
er amount of water.
– when dishes need to be cooked in a pres-
sure cooker for a longer time.
