OPERATION
1.
Park the vehicle in neutral. Do not engage a gear as this may damage the vehicle's gearbox. Apply
the handbrake and block the wheels with braking blocks.
2.
To pull out the winch cable, turn the coupling knob anti-clockwise to loosen it and then pull out as
much cable you need. Always allow at least three cable turns to remain on the drum so that the
cable cannot become detached from the winch.
3.
Hook the cable on the object, for example, by using a tow rope or chain. Never wind the winch
cable around the object and hook on to the actual cable. This could damage the cable and the
object being pulled.
4.
Tighten the coupling knob.
5.
Move to the side and, when you consider it safe, activate the winch using the power button on the
remote control.
WARNING!
Keep your hands, clothing, hair and jewellery away from the cable drum and cable when winching
is in progress.
Never use the winch if the cable is broken, tangled or damaged in any way.
Never let anyone stand near the cable or behind the winch or in line with the cable, when the winch
is loaded. If the cable comes loose or breaks, it can suddenly be thrown back towards the winch
and injure people who are in the way. Always move to the side before winching begins.
Towing capacity
This winch has a towing capacity of 907 kg that can be used for the following practical applications:
-
Move a load of 907 kg from standstill on level ground.
-
Move floating vessels weighing up to 2268 kg.
-
Tow rolling vehicles weighing up to 2721 kg.
The towing capacity decreases with an increasing gradient. For example, the towing capacity drops
from 2721 kg to about 500 kg at a gradient of 45 degrees.
Hand crank for emergencies
WARNING!
Do not use this crank to assist a winch that is in operation. This will damage the winch and
can cause injury.
1.
Tighten the coupling knob clockwise by hand. Do not overtighten.
2.
Align the hand crank on the flattened end of the threaded shaft on the left side of the winch.
3.
Rotate the crank clockwise to tighten the cable. Continue until the entire cable has been fed in.
MAINTENANCE
Lubricate the winch cable from time to time with light oil.
Lubricate the drives every six months. To access the drives, remove the coupling knob and
separate the left and right cover. Use a good quality water resistant grease.
