Ping:
Ping is a program used to test whether a particular host or computer is reachable in a network and for
determining its response rate.
WAN:
A Wide Area Network is a computer network that, in contrast to a LAN, covers a very large geographical area.
LAN:
A Local Area Network is a network in which computers or clients are connected using network cables or wireless LAN.
TCP:
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is a protocol that determines the way in which data should be exchanged between
computers. All modern computer operating systems have TCP and employ it for exchanging data with other computers. It is
a component of the Internet protocol suite, the core basis of the Internet.
UDP:
The User Datagram Protocol (UDP) is a minimal, connectionless network protocol that belongs to the transport layer of the
Internet protocol family. The task of UDP is to ensure that data transferred over the Internet arrives at the correct application.
ICMP:
As with TCP and UDP, the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) uses the Internet Protocol (IP) and is a core protocol in
the Internet protocol family. Its purpose in networks is to send error and information messages.
