The individual components that are required for an auxiliary
staircase must be calculated taking the adjacent table and
the required storey height into consideration. This results in:
>
Staircase rise of the starting stair-tread (height of the starting
stair-tread stringers must be shortened)
>
Pitch per stair-tread
>
Space required for auxiliary staircase
(detailed drawings for this can be found in our online shop)
>
Number of stair-treads and stringers required
(a one-handed clamp is required for installation)
>
Accessory set is always mandatory
Staircase rise calculation: Step 1
Storey height – [(number of stair-treads from table + 1) x
pitch from table] –39 mm
The result must be in the range from 0 to –127 mm
Staircase rise calculation: Step 2
Result from step 1
Staircase rise calculation
0 to –15 mm
Pitch from table + 29 mm +
result from step 1
–16 to –59 mm
Pitch from table + 39 mm +
result from step 1
–60 to –69 mm
Pitch from table + 46 mm +
result from step 1
–70 to –79 mm
Pitch from table + 51 mm +
result from step 1
–80 to –99 mm
Pitch from table – 33 mm
–100 to –127 mm
Pitch from table – 41 mm
Staircase rise example calculation:
Required storey height 2,480 mm
Step 1: 2,480 mm – [(10 + 1) × 227 mm] – 39 mm = –56 mm
Step 2: 227 mm + 39 mm – 56 mm = 210 mm (staircase rise)
For this example, following would be required for the auxiliary
staircase:
10 stair-treads, 20 stringers, 1 accessory set
Note:
For optimum user-friendliness we recommend between 3 and
12 stair-treads. The folding staircase is designed for use as an
auxiliary staircase.
It does not correspond to the building regulation requirements of
necessary or non-necessary staircases, as per DIN 18065.
It must be evaluated and ensured on site that the masonry has
sufficient load bearing capacity, and the choice of fixing materials
must be adapted to the on-site situation accordingly.
More information about installing the auxiliary staircase can be
found in the installation instructions stored in our online shop.
