10. Care and maintenance
Cleaning the case
: You can clean a water resistant model
with a damp cloth. Please make sure you use a soft and clean
cloth to avoid scratches on the case. Gaps can be cleaned
with a cotton bud if necessary.
Please avoid aggressive cleaning, polishing or scouring
agents. It is possible that a watch that is no longer water re-
sistant will display this when you immerse it in water and/or
clean it with washing-up liquid, etc.
Maintenance intervals:
To ensure that your Guinand watch
maintains its expected precision even after decades of use,
like all fine mechanisms, it needs a minimum of care.
Consequently, we recommend that every four to five years
you take your watch to be professionally serviced by Gui-
nand/Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Even if you do not constantly wear your Guinand watch, the
oils and lubricants used can evaporate or lose some of their
