2 Operation
Principle
The interface has a built-in microprocessor and be programmed electronically. It can
connect the detector to fire alarm system through signal two loops. Each interface can
connect with two heat cables, with the first end of the heat cable connected with the
interface and the last end connected with the terminal. Each loop of the heat cable
occupies one address point.
The linear heat cable is a part of sensor component in a field fire alarm system. The heat
cable is made up of two twisted flexible steel wires. Each wire is coated with isolation
material. In normal monitoring state, the resistance of each steel wire is indefinite, and
the heat cable has a tiny standby current because of the terminal resistance. When the
ambient temperature rise up to rated action temperature, the isolation material between
the steel wires melted, which make the two twisted wires shorted on a certain point. At
the time, the standby current in the heat cable will be increased, the interface will check
such a change and transmit it to the fire alarm control panel.
The terminal is a special accessory, connected to the end of the heat cable without
connecting with fire alarm control panel. The terminal has fire test device, convenient for
simulation fire test on the detector.
