It is not possible to select a programme position by its programme
number when you are in the VIDEO or AUDIO menu. This is to avoid that the
settings made on the programme position selected before are copied into
the current programme position when exiting the menu with »SPEICHERN
JA« selected.
For this reason, always pay attention when using this option of the VIDEO
or AUDIO menu. It is not possible to automatically recover the factory pre-
settings.
The System Menu
(Time, LNB Power Supply, Decoder)
In the SYSTEM menu (SYSTEM-EINSTELLUNGEN = System Settings) you
can set the clock time (UHRZEIT), switch on and off the LNB power supply
(LNB SPANNUNG EIN/AUS) and change the settings for a connected deco-
der (DEKODER VIDEO/PAL).
Press the
“
SYSTEM
key to display the SYSTEM Menu on-screen.
w
!
When exiting the menu, the changed settings will only be stored if ”STORE
YES” (SPEICHERN JA) is selected in the bottom menu line.

Time (summer/winter time)
The time must be correctly set if you intend to use the programming capa-
bility offered by the Timer function (TIMER Menu).
w
!
If the clock is turned off or interrupted (by a power outage, for example),
the time will be lost.
Use the

keys to move back and forth between hours (0…23) and
minutes (0…59).
Use the

keys to raise or lower the selected value.
❒
LNB power supply
With the factory presetting »LNB SPANNUNG EIN« (LNB POWER SUPPLY
ON), the receiver powers the satellite aerial.
If your receiver is connected to a collective satellite aerial system, select the
setting »LNB SPANNUNG AUS« (LNB POWER SUPPLY OFF). If not, keep
the »LNB SPANNUNG EIN« setting.
❒
Decoder
When connecting an external decoder, you have the choice between the
options »VIDEO« and »PAL«.
Fore example, select
»VIDEO« for Canal+, Canal satellite, Première, RTL4, RTL 5, SBS6,
Veronica, RTL9 and Videocrypt,
»PAL« for
Canal + 16/9, Cinicinema 16/9, France supervision, TV 1000,
F, TV 3 S.D.N., and D2MAC channels.

The Video Menu
(video and programme position settings)
Your receiver is already pre-programmed for the current programmes of
many satellites. In most cases, a correction is not required.
However, new programmes are continuously added or transmission fre-
quencies are changed. The current state of the transmission frequencies
can be called up by means of the Teletext pages of various stations (e.g.
SAT 1: Teletext page 516). Changed programmes then can be re-program-
med in the VIDEO menu.
The VIDEO menu contains the video settings for each satellite channel (pro-
gramme position).
Use the numeric keypad or the
M

keys to select the programme posi-
tion for which you wish to check or change the video settings.
Press the

key. The VIDEO menu appears on the picture screen.

❒
POL/22KHZ (Pol/Tone)
This menu item enables the adjustment of the signal polarization: horizontal
(H) or vertical (V) (with V, a 14 V direct voltage is applied at the LNB, with
H, a 18 V direct voltage is applied at the LNB).
If two satellite aerials, two LNB's or one LNB with range switch-over facility
are connected, you can select the desired signal source with the help of the
22 kHz tone-switching option.
❒
FREQUENZ (Frequency)
The receiver is pre-programmed for an LNB with 9750 MHz oscillator fre-
quency. If you use an LNB operating with a different oscillator frequency,
you must adjust the frequencies for the programmes you wish to receive to
this LNB.
For LNBs with a different LO frequency, this must be subtracted from the
transmission frequency of the desired satellite and the result obtained must
be entered into the receiver.
Example:
ARD transmission frequency:
=
0
11.494 GHz
minus LNB oscillator frequency:
= –10.000 GHz
frequency difference to enter:
=
00
1.494 GHz
= 1494 MHz
The transmission frequency of the satellite, the pre-programmed frequency
and the frequency to be entered for a 10.0-GHz-LNB are given in the pro-
gramme list enclosed.
❒
KONTRAST (Contrast)
The frequency-modulated satellite signals are transmitted with different fre-
quency deviations. To get a picture with a good contrast, the receiver must
be adjusted correspondingly. In the contrast menu, two values (1 and 2) are
available. For the pre-programmed satellites, the correct contrast setting is
already selected.
Examples:
The Telecom and Eutelsat satellites broadcast with a frequency deviation of
22 MHz and are pre-set to the contrast value 1. Astra and Hotbird broadcast
with 16 MHz frequency deviation and are pre-set to the contrast value 2.
