Refer to the following figures and descriptions to
become familiar with the basic controls and com-
ponents of this machine. Understanding these
items and how they work will help you understand
the rest of the manual and minimize your risk of
injury when operating this machine.
Control or Component Description
Figure 1. Safety components.
A. Wheel Guard (1 of 2): Prevents accidental
contact with grinding wheel, and contains
sparks during grinding.
B. Spark Deflector (1 of 2): Reduces amount of
sparks spraying back towards the operator.
C. Safety Shield: Acts as a protective barrier
against sparks during grinding operations.
This shield is not a substitute for personal
protective equipment.
D. Tool Rest (Right): Provides flat surface to
rest workpiece on during operations.
E. ON/OFF Switch Disabling Key: Disables
switch when key is removed so motor cannot
start.
F. ON/OFF Switch: Turns motor ON when
flipped up; turns motor OFF when flipped
down.
G. Tool Rest (Left): Provides flat surface to rest
workpiece on during operations. Includes a
V-groove for controlling angle of contact with
grinding wheel.
