SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION
This chaptere contains an essential description of the control software for all the programmers. Please
remark that on line help is updated before the manual.
USING THE PROGRAMMER SOFTWARE
! IMPORTANT !
The control program delivered, included on the mini-CD in Your package, is granted to be free from
any viruses at the moment of delivery. To increase their safety our programs include a special
algorithm for detecting possible virus infections.
RUN THE CONTROL PROGRAM
From command line of MS/PC-DOS write: PG4U
in Windows environment: double click to icon PG4UW.
After start, control program PG4U / PG4UW automatically scans all existing ports and search for the
connected any
grifo
®
programmer. Program PG4U/PG4UW is common for all the grifo
®
programmers, hence program try to find all supported programmers.
Notes: When the PG4U/PG4UW program is started, program is checked for its integrity. Than the
program display a standard user menu and waits for your instructions.
If the control program cannot communicate with the programmer, an error message appears on the
screen, including error code and description of possible reasons (disconnected programmer, bad
connection, power supply failure, incompatible printer port, ...). Eliminate the error source and press
any key. If error condition still exist, the program resumes its operation in the demo mode and access
to the programmer is not possible. If you cannot find the cause of the error, follow the instructions
in Troubleshooting section. In addition, the control program checks communication with programmer
prior to any operation with the programmed device.
