Configuration
Button Definitions
Source
Master
Means “source is the master” and makes the source device the master.
Otherwise, the destination is the master.
The button is a toggle: Press it once to make the source the master (it
goes high-tally); press it again to make the destination the master (the
button is low-tally).
A panel option allows you to make “source is master” the default. In this
case, the button still toggles between “source is master” and “destina-
tion is master,” and the button, if present, is high-tally by default.
The ‘Source is Master’ button is also used to initiate “broadcast” control
routes. See
Broadcast Routes
on page 66.
Source/
Destination
P
A source/destination button selects both a source and a destination at
one time. A source/destination button can be configured to perform an
immediate take. If it is not, the operator must also press a ‘Take’ button
to effect a take.
When you assign a source/destination button, two drop-down menus
appears: ‘Source Device’ and ‘Destination Device’. Choose a device from
each list. A ‘None’ entry is merely a placeholder. Do not choose ‘None’.
Take
P
In X-Y mode, a take button switches the preset source device to the
selected destination device on selected levels.
In MD mode, a take button switches the preset source device(s) to the
selected destination device(s) on all levels.
Under the paging model, a take button switches the preset source
device to the selected destination device on all levels.
In most cases, configurers should provide the operator a ‘Take’ button.
Undefined
P
Makes the button undefined and inactive. On the actual panel, it will
remain unlit (dark).
Virtual Level
Contract
In X-Y mode, this button causes the alphanumeric display to show
virtual levels at the
highest
level of grouping (with the least detail). The
button affects only virtual levels that have been grouped. See
Level
Grouping
on page 54.
The button has no effect in multi-destination mode.
This button has no configuration options.
Virtual Level
Expand
In X-Y mode, this button causes the alphanumeric display to show
virtual levels at the
lowest
level of grouping (with the most detail). The
button affects only virtual levels that have been grouped. See
Level
Grouping
on page 54.
The button has no effect in multi-destination mode.
This button has no configuration options.
