Lube Equipment Couplers, Nozzle,
Flexible Extension, and Adapters
For use with petroleum based lubricants only
WARNING
Fluid under high pressure can cause serious injury. Observe all warnings.
Read and understand all instruction manuals before operating the equipment.
FLUID INJECTION HAZARD
Fluid emitted under high pressure from leaks or ruptured
components can penetrate the skin and cause extremely
serious injury, including the need for amputation. Also, fluid
injected into or splashed into the eyes can cause serious
damage.
Never point the dispensing valve at anyone or any part of the
body.
Never put your hand or fingers over the grease fitting coupler.
Never try to stop or deflect leaks with your hand or body.
Intended Use
This equipment is designed for use with petroleum based
lubricants only. Any other use of the couplers, nozzle, flexible
extension, or adapters can cause unsafe operating condi-
tions and result in component rupture, which could cause
serious injury, including fluid injection.
System Pressure
The
Maximum Working Pressures of the couplers, nozzle,
flexible extension, and adapters are listed with each individu-
al part. Be sure you know the maximum working pressure of
all your system components. Never exceed the maximum
working pressure of the lowest rated component in your sys-
tem.
Grease Fitting Coupler Safety
Use extreme caution when cleaning or changing grease fit-
ting couplers. If the coupler clogs while dispensing, stop dis-
pensing immediately! Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure,
on page 2. Then remove the coupler to clean it. Never wipe
off buildup around the coupler until pressure is fully relieved.
Flexible Extension Safety
Be sure you know the
Maximum Working Pressure of the
flexible extension you are using. Never exceed the maximum
working pressure
of the flexible extension, even if your dis-
pensing valve or pump is rated for higher working pressures.
Never use a low pressure, flexible extension, which is
designed for low pressure dispensing valves or hand-pow-
ered lubricating equipment, on a high-pressure dispensing
valve.
Never attempt to force lubricant into a fitting! If the lubri-
cant is not flowing, stop dispensing immediately! The fitting
may be clogged. Forcing lubricant may cause excessive
back pressure in the flexible extension, which could cause it
to rupture and result in serious injury, including fluid injection
and eye injury.
Only install a coupler on the hand grip end of the flexible
extension in this manual. See page 2. Never install a cou-
pler on the other end of the hose. Never use the flexible ex-
tension without the hand grip in place.
EQUIPMENT MISUSE HAZARD
This equipment is designed for use with petroleum based
lubricants only. Using equipment for something other than its
intended use can cause a malfunction and result in serious
injury.
Never alter or modify any part of this dispensing equipment;
doing so could cause it to malfunction and result in serious
injury.
Check all dispensing equipment regularly. Repair or replace
worn or damaged parts immediately.
Always read and follow the fluid and solvent manufacturer’s
recommendations regarding the use of protective eyewear,
clothing, gloves, and other equipment.
