3. Putting into Operation
3.1 Battery

The instrument is already supplied with batteries.
The battery status is indicated by a battery symbol 
on the display (see section 7.1).

3.2 Preparation

Remove the safety cap from the electrodes.
Push the handle with the test tip L1 upwards and 
detach it from the display part.

For tests on earthing-contact sockets (Schuko), the 
handle on the display part may remain locked in 
place, for other tests as well as the self-test, it must 
be disconnected.
