4 Field of application / operating principle
Combinations of bursting discs and safety valves are used in a wide range of
applications in which the tightness of the system in ongoing operation is particularly
important.
Furthermore, once the bursting disc responds and the pressure has been reduced
to a level low enough for safe operation of the system, the system is sealed again
reliably by the safety valve.
The bursting disc protects the safety valve and ensures, for example, that it does
not develop leaks due to contamination and/or does not open prematurely.
