Because the TX4200 contains a wide variety of
functions, it is possible to be confused by the
symbols on the display when learning to operate
the unit. If this happens, simply reset each
function and start again. The TX4200 can’t be
reset just by turning it off because it remembers
all settings when you turn it back on. The
following chart will help identify each symbol
with it’s function and key press. Simply locate
the symbol that is being displayed on your
TX4200 and read across the table to identify
the function that is selected and the associated
access key. Pressing this key will cancel the
function.
If all else fails, press the channel
PRI
knob. This
resets most functions and takes you straight to
the Priority channel.

the Squelch is set too far

TO CANCEL
Press and Hold the Squelch knob.
Press and Hold the SCAN button.
Briefly press the Squelch knob.
Briefy press the OS/GS button.
Briefly press the OS/GS button.
Release the PTT switch.
Briefly press the CALL button.
Briefly press the Squelch knob
(if beeping,
briefly press the Squelch knob twice).
Briefly press the SCAN button.
Briefly press the Volume knob.
Briefly press the DUP button.
Wait for the channel to clear or rotate the
Squelch control further clockwise.
Note: Some functions activate when the key is pressed while others activate when it is released.
