General safety instructions
This section provides general information regarding the safe operation of this equipment.
2.1
Intended use
The PC 65 crimper is used to crimp contacts.
The crimp dies are part of the accessories, allowing the equipment to produce a wide range of different
crimp connections. Only approved crimp dies must be used in the process.
The wide spectrum of the equipment also qualifies for the application in workshops as well as in complex
cable confection systems.
It is only allowed to be used on dry and clean production sites.
Intended use of the equipment also includes adherence to the operating instructions and compliance
with inspection and maintenance requirements.
Furthermore, intended use includes adherence to supplier documentation.
Any other use shall be deemed as improper use. GLW shall not assume liability for any damage resulting
from improper use.
2.2
Use of the equipment for purposes other than the intended use
If the equipment is operated without meeting the specifications, it shall be deemed improper use.
Use of unapproved materials.
Use of the equipment during ongoing strong vibrations at the installation site.
2.3

Declaration of conformity / Declaration of incorporation
This product conforms with the 2016/42/EC Directive. This was verified with a risk assessment, and the
Declaration of Conformity has been issued. A duplication of the Declaration of Conformity is enclosed in
section 11, page 38.

General sources of hazards
The following hazard sources can be identified for the handling of the equipment:
electrical energy
pneumatic energy
application without the protective cover
hazards posed by components lying around in the work area
2.6
Hazards posed by electrical energy
Work on electrical systems or equipment must be carried out by professional electricians or trained per-
sonnel under the guidance and supervision of a professional electrician in accordance with current elec-
trical engineering practices and regulations.
2.7
Hazards posed by pneumatic energy
