Adjust driver board Q1 bias using the following sub-routine:

A. Remove JW1 from the driver board.

B. Connect a current meter between test points TP1 and TP2.

C. Apply power to the transmitter, but do not key it.

D. Adjust R6 for a Q1 idle current of 20 +/- 5 mA as displayed on the meter.

Refer to left side of Figure 7-6.

Remove power from the transmitter.

Remove the meter from the test points

G. Replace jumper JW1.

Adjust the Q2 bias using the following sub-routine:

A. The exciter RF output should be disconnected.

B. Apply power to the transmitter.

C. Enter the forward power calibrate mode and key the transmitter (key

sequence m-5-6-1).

D. Adjust R16 for a Q2 idle current of 1.0 +/-0.2A on the VDT. Refer to left

side of Figure 7-6.

Unkey the Transmitter and press the escape key to exit the calibration mode.

Remove power from the transmitter.

Remove all power and reconfigure the transmitter for normal operation.
