Aluminum Oxide (Al

O

) sold to be used with this equipment is the man made equivalent of a mineral called Corundum.
This crystallized powder is the perfect abrasive because it is surpassed in hardness only by a diamond and is a block
shaped, sharp edged crystal. When found in nature, the pure, transparent or translucent corundum is prized as a gem.
Other more familiar varieties of the same mineral family are named according to their color such as sapphire (blue)
ruby (red) amethyst (purple) or emerald (green). This mineral compound should not be confused with Aluminum (Al)
or products made from Aluminum (Al) or the potential health risks that may be associated with Aluminum (Al) during
topical skin treatments or by ingestion. This product contains no Aluminum.
