Installation
Mobile Units
The standard mobile unit can be operated within a temperature range between 10° C and 55° C.
The comfort mobile unit in a range between 0° C and 45° C. Keep them away from water.
Persons wearing hearing aids should be careful when using the telephone, because the frequen-
cies can be intercepted by the
hearing aid
and, when strong enough, can cause a very unpleas-
ant sound.
The mobile unit is powered by 2 batteries. For correct operation you must insert the batteries in
the battery compartment, and then close the compartment with the supplied cover.
1. Insert the batteries in the mobile compartment

Hold the mobile unit with the key pad facing down. In the lower portion of the mobile unit
there is a compartment for inserting the batteries.

Insert the batteries that are supplied into the battery compartment as shown below. Make
sure to insert the batteries in the proper direction. The correct placement is displayed on a
label in the battery compartment (see figure below).

Insert the cover for the battery compartment into the designated slots (see figure) on the
mobile unit and then close the compartment.
Note:
If the batteries are not inserted correctly the mobile unit will not work.
2. Charging the batteries
The batteries are not charged at the time of delivery. To charge the batteries, the mobile unit
must be inserted in the battery charger (not supplied with Gigaset 1054isdn). The key pad can be
facing either up or down, but the underside of the mobile unit with the charge contacts must
touch the contacts in the battery charger.
If you have inserted the mobile unit correctly for charging, the
LED
(light-emitting diode

will remain lit.
Depending on the age of and manufacturer/type of the battery, the charge time will vary. The
charge logic of the mobile unit guarantees the optimal charging of the batteries every time.
