Troubleshooting
Symptom
Possible cause
Solution
The light does not
illuminate.
There is no mains
voltage.
Check that there is voltage at the
mains socket. Check whether damage
to the mains cable could be the cause.
Check whether the mains voltage plug
connector is fully connected and locked
at the mains socket and on the light.
The union nut on the cable coupling
must be fully screwed onto the light.
Check whether any circuit breaker
(leakage current circuit breaker) has
tripped or is not switched on.
The overheating
switch has tripped.
The overheating switch interrupts the
voltage supply to the light if it
overheats. The internal fan continues
to run. Check whether the light has a
sufficient supply of air from its
surroundings. Leave the light
connected to the mains voltage for a
while. If the internal temperature falls
below a set value, the temperature
switch automatically turns the light
back on.
Not all of the
light bulbs illuminate.
One or more bulbs
is faulty.
The light must be sent in for repair.
Half of the lights are
switched off.
The light has a selector switch on its
underside. In switch position “II”, all
light bulbs are switched on, while in
switch position “I”, half of the lights are
switched off in order to avoid dazzling
passing vehicle drivers, for example,
when the light is correctly set up.
The light cannot be
attached to the stand
tube.
The tommy screw
on the stand support
tube on the light is
screwed too far in.
The light has a tommy screw on the
stand support tube for securing the
light to the stand. If this screw is
screwed too far into the stand support
tube before the light is placed on the
stand, the light cannot be attached.
Screw the tommy screw backwards a
little bit and try again.
