Battery operation
Basic functions of the GfS Day Alarm with battery operation are similar to
those of mains operation.
Differences
Relay operates in the opposite way (it is permanently deactivated, in case
of an alarm it will be activated). While the GfS Day Alarm is activated the
red LED is switched on for approx. 15 sec. Then the LED expires and the
GfS Day Alarm operates in a stand by mode (while waiting for external
signals). During the permanent opening mode the green LED flashes every
60 sec.
Batterie Control
only active when battery operated. Voltage is being measured after the red
LED is switched-off and then every 12 hours. The green LED is triggered
briefly (100ms) in order to put some load on the battery. In case that the
battery supply is less than 7,5V the buzzer sounds briefly. Now the meas-
urement takes place every 60 sec. and triggers a brief alarm.
Operation in parallel
With mains supply it is also possible to use a battery in parallel (only with-
out integrated receiver). In case of power failure the GfS Day Alarm starts
to be battery operated after 15 sec. When the power failure is over the GfS
DayAlarm operates automatically again with mains supply.
