The rate of planing and the depth of cut determine the quality of the finish. For rough cutting, you can increase
the depth of cut. To achieve a smooth finish you will need to reduce the depth of cut and advance the planer
slowly across the work piece.
CAUTION:
Moving the planer too quickly may cause a poor quality of cut and can damage the blades or the
motor. Moving the planer too slowly may burn or mar the work piece.
The proper feed rate will depend on the type of material being cut and the depth of the cut.
Practice first on a scrap piece of material to gauge the correct feed rate and the cut dimensions.
CAUTION:
Always use two hands when holding the planer.
CAUTION:
Wherever possible, clamp the work piece to a workbench or clamping table.
CHAMFERING
•
To make a chamfered cut, first align one of the three “V” grooves in the front base
of the planer with the corner edge of the work piece.
•
Choose the “V” groove that is best suited for the required chamfer depth.
•
Run the planer along the corner edge.
DISPLACE BLADE
1. REMOVING OR INSTALLING PLANER BLADES
CAUTION:
Always ensure that the tool is switched OFF and unplugged from the power supply before installing or
removing blades.
•
Your planer is fitted with reversible blades. Blades can be reversed when one edge has become blunt. After
both sides of the blades have been used they should be discarded and replace with identical blades.
NOTE.
These blades cannot be re-sharpened.

RE
MOVING A PLANER BLADE
•
Using the wrench, loosen the three clamping screws.
•
Slide the planer blade from the slot in the blade barrel.
3. INSTALLING A PLANER BLADE
•
Use other edge of the reversible planer blade, or, if dull, replace blade.
•
Slide the sharp blade face up into the blade support block of the blade barrel.
NOTE.
The ridge along the blade should be face away from the clamping screws.
•
Evenly tighten the clamping screws.
•
Repeat on other blade.
NOTE:
Always change the two blades at the same time, otherwise an imbalance may occur and cause vibration
and shorten the life of both the blade and the tool.
NOTE:
Blade position has been aligned before going out from manufactory, so do not adjust the 2 inner hex
screws on blade supporter.
