Insert the tow cable clevis into the nose such that the holes in the clevis line up with the holes in
the sides of the nose. Insert the clevis pin as shown from the side of the nose with the smallest
diameter counter bore. Then insert the cotter pin through the hole in the end of the clevis pin,
locking the clevis pin in place. If you put the clevis pin the wrong way through the nose it will
be impossible to insert the clevis pin. Spread the legs of the cotter pin to lock it in place.
Slide the connector of the tow cable down
through the center of the seawater electrode,
as shown. Note the hole in the side of the
seawater electrode. It must be oriented as
shown, towards the nose, or you will be
unable to mount the nose later.
Place the single pin watertight connector
onto the single pin connector on the
bulkhead of the magnetometer electronics.
Press firmly all the way until you see the
rubber expand and snap over the base of the
connector to complete the seal. Next, align
the pins of the 8 pin tow cable connector
with the pins of the 8 pin bulkhead
connector of the magnetometer electronics.
Press firmly all the way until you see there
is no space left between connector bodies. Pressing this connector all the way on requires
considerable pressure. A slight rocking motion while pressing this connector on will assist the
process.
