Level Sensor
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) is
programmed to deactivate the lift and drive
functions and activate an alarm when a signal is
received from the level sensor.
The tilt alarm sounds when the incline of the
chassis exceeds 1.5° to the side, or 3° to the front
or rear.
How to Install and Calibrate the
Level Sensor
Tip-over hazard. Failure to install
or calibrate the level sensor as
instructed will compromise
machine stability and cause the
machine to tip over, resulting in
death or serious injury. Do not
install or calibrate the level sensor
other than specified in this
procedure.
Perform this procedure with the
machine on a firm, level surface
that is free of obstructions.
Perform this procedure with the
platform in the stowed position.
If you are not installing a new level sensor,
proceed to step 6.
1 Tag and disconnect the level sensor wire
harness from the chassis wire harness.
2 Remove the level sensor adjusting fasteners.
Remove the level sensor from the machine.
3 Place the new level sensor onto the level
sensor base with the "X" on the level sensor
closest to the mast of the machine and the "Y"
on the level sensor closest to the steer end of
the machine.
Tip-over hazard. The level sensor
must be installed with the "X" on
the level sensor closest to the
mast of the machine and the "Y"
on the level sensor closest to the
steer end of the machine. Failure
to install the tilt level sensor as
instructed could result in the
machine tipping over, causing
death or serious injury.
