SAVING MIDI FILES
If you wish that your Songs to be played by other instruments or by a computer, you have to save them as
MIDI File to a MS-DOS (MidiFile format 0).
To save a General MIDI (GM) compatible MIDI File set the General MIDI parameter to ON (refer to the
“MIDI/GENERAL” section of the Owners Manual). The Performance parameters in all tracsk will be convert-
ed into the correspondent MIDI controls (Bank select MSB e LSB, Program Change, Volume, Pan, Control
change 91 and 93 for the Effects).
All wk1000 Songs saved as a MidiFile are always compatible with the GMX format. Consequently they are
compatible with all instruments of the WK series which feature a Disk Drive.
If the Song contains Lyrics, it will be converted into a Lyric format event and the generated fi le will be a
MidiFile with text (Karaoke).
The SONG STYLES can be saved to a Floppy Disk using the “ Save All ” procedure. In fact this type of fi le
involves different sections of the instrument.
SAVING SONG STYLES
SONG STYLES cannot be saved as a Midi File.
The selected fi le has been deleted and is no longer in the Floppy Disk.

FORMATTING A FLOPPY DISK
wk1000 will not read data from a Floppy Disk which is not in a recognized format. Using a disk in a non-
compatible format will prompt a message that requests to abandon the current Floppy Disk and try with a
new one. Two formatting procedures are possible.
FORMAT 720 KB
This procedure formats a 3.5” DD Floppy Disk in MS-DOS/Atari ST formats (capacity:720 kilobytes).
FORMAT 1,44 MB
This procedure formats a 3.5” HD Floppy Disk for wk1000 use with 1,44 MB capacity. Such format is fully
compatible with MS-DOS and allows the exchange of fi les between instruments of the WK and PK series and
computers (Windows, Macintosh).
THE FORMATTING PROCEDURE
This function is available in the third page of DISK mode. If you are reformatting a used disk, remember
that all data stored in the disk will be cancelled.
Press ss the FLOPPY DISK button and move to the FORMAT page using the PAGE +
