Chapter 5 - Virtual Control
Through a “virtual setting” via serial line or fieldbus, it is possible to use all
the functions available on the digital inputs and perform a direct control of
the digital and analog outputs.
5.1 Virtual Digital Input/Output Control
The setting can be carried out in such configurations, where the digital
commands are a mix of “virtual” and terminals and the outputs are a mix of
“virtual” and drive function.
The selection between terminals and virtual digital inputs is determined by
the binary code written in the mask parameters
I.400
,
I.410
. The virtual digital
input is done by writing the virtual digital inputs
H.000
,
H.001
.
Digital outputs at the terminals of the board are normally driven by the drive,
according to the functions programmed by the parameters
I.000
to
I.152
. How-
ever, it is possible to drive any of the digital outputs on the board directly from
serial line or fieldbus, by writing the virtual digital outputs
H.010
,
H.011
.
Whether to use the virtual settings is determined by mask parameters
I.420
,
I.430
.
Mask parameters have to be managed bitwise. At each bit corresponds a
switch, according to the following logic.

5.2 Virtual Analog Output Control
Analog output at the terminals of the board are normally driven by the drive,
according to the function programmed by the parameters
I.300, I.310, I.350
.
However it is possible to drive the one of the analog output on the board
directly from serial line or fieldbus, by writing the virtual analog output
H.020,
H.021, H.022
. Whether to use the virtal settings is determined by mask
parameter
I.450
.
Mask parameters have to be managed bitwise. At each bit corresponds a
switch, according to the following logic.
