IPMB (external I²C)
The Intelligent Platform Management Bus (IPMB) is available on the AMC
connector to communicate with the IPM controller from afar. External access
via IPMB to the onboard SMBus devices can only be done via the IPMI
controller. For more information please see the IPMB description on page 48
within the IPMI controller section.
Temperature Sensor LM83
A National Semiconductor LM83 temperature sensor is implemented on the
ASLP11 board. The sensor is located close to the CPU and shows the die-
temperature of the CPU and the local onboard temperature. The sensor has an
over-temperature output integrated, which can be used to take actions like
reducing the CPU speed. For programming information please see the
'AMIBIOS for ASLP11 User’s and Programmer’s Manual'.

Serial EEPROM
For storage of user data a serial EEPROM is implemented on the ASLP11
board. The user EEPROM is a 24C512 type with 64 kByte.
Reading and writing the user EEPROM is supported by software libraries
available for various operating systems.
Geographic Addressing
If the carrier supports geographic Addressing, the ASLP11 can detect the
unique Address in an AMC-System with the GA [2...0] Pins on the rear
connector.

Watchdog
For security of application software, the ASLP11 offers a software controlled
hardware two stage watchdog with independent count values for each stage.
The first stage generates an INT or SMI. The second stage issuing a reset
signal if its time-out interval expires. The configurable granularity reaches
from 1µs to 10min.

LEDs
Three LEDs are available at the front panel bicolor (’FLT’), green (’in
Service’) and blue (HS).
