1. Bench Top Configuration
Tools Required:
7-32 VDC to power supply
HART modem/configurator (handheld or PC application)
Wireless HART network settings - Network ID an Join Key
1. Adjust the power supply to a voltage between 7- 32 VDC and turn off the power supply.
Connect the VECTOR V1100, power supply and HART modem / communicator as per
Figure 1.

2. Power the VECTOR V1100 by connecting the bench power supply positive terminal (+) to
the Direct Power black lead input wire and the power supply negative terminal (-) to the
Return white lead wire.
3. Connect HART communicator or HART modem to the VECTOR V1100 by connecting one
lead of the HART modem to the VECTOR V1100 Return wire and the other lead of the HART
modem to the VECTOR V1100 HART wire. The VECTOR V1100's HART signal connections
are polarity independent.
4. Ensure the Loop Power lead wire (RED) is not connected to any terminal of the power
supply and or an earth grounding connection. Electrically isolate this lead wire from all
potentials. Tie EGND, the green-yellow stripped lead wire, the earth grounding conductor,
to the earth power supply grounding connection or leave unconnected for this test. Do
not connect EGND to any other voltage potential.
5. Verify the test setup is configured per Figure 1 and then turn on the power supply.
6. Verify that the HART modem and PC or HART communicator is operating as expected and
proceed to “2. Quick Setup” on page 17.
