4. Using S117
4.1 Airway
Nasal and Oral Intubation
The simulator allows for realistic jaw
thrust, head tilt and chin lift.
The airway has anatomical landmarks
and can be intubated orally or nasally.
The simulators’s airway can be
intubated through the
left
nasal
opening, trachea, and mouth using
LMA or endotracheal tubes.
WARNING: Manually lubricate the ET tube, and nasal opening prior to
performing an intubation exercise.
Do not spray mineral oil directly into the mouth or the airway.
Introduce fluids through the esophagus
to practice nasogastric feeding
procedures.
