Problem
Possible Reason
The Easy Solution
The heating elements
below the fondue plate
and the grilling plate are
red-heated.
The control dials are set to
very high temperature.
This is normal operation. No need for concern.
The appliance is connected
to the power supply but
both heating elements
(grilling plate and fondue
plate) do not work.
The appliance is not live.
When you are using an extension cord, check the electrical
connections.
Check, if the used power outlet is live and the extension
cord is in proper working order, by connecting a lamp via
the extension cord.
Both heating elements are
switched off.
For switching on the appliance, turn the appropriate con-
trol dial (RACLETTE or FONDUE) to the MAX direction,
until a clicking noise can be heard from the temperature
control system. Then turn the control dial a bit further on
for increasing the temperature sufficiently.
Malfunction occurred.
Immediately unplug the appliance. Get in contact with an
authorised service centre for examination and repair.
The grilling plate wobbles,
is tilted or is not centred.
The grilling plate is not
mounted correctly.
When the grilling plate is mounted correctly, you cannot
push the grilling plate to any side. Lift the grilling plate a
little and try again, holding the grilling plate exactly over
the centre of the appliance.
The forks holder wobbles
or slips off the fondue pot.
The forks holder is in upsi-
de down orientation.
Turn the forks holder by 180° to the correct orientation
and try again.
During operation a burnt
smell is generated
AND/OR
The appliance is heated
for the very first time.
This is normal and harmless. No need for concern. Before
cooking food, prepare the appliance for operation (see:
‘Before First Use’).
Food is overheated on the
grilling plate.
Ensure to remove even leftovers in time from the appli-
ance, to avoid burning. Clean the appliance thoroughly,
removing any burnt food (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’).
