it cannot fall down. Ensure that nobody will unintentionally touch the lid, when it is still hot to
avoid risk of burns.
cautIon:
Only use cooking utensils made of heat-resistant plastic or wood. Do not cut or
scratch in the ›Banquet Roasting Pan‹ to avoid damage to the non-stick coatings. Do not leave
any foreign objects (e.g. cooking utensils) in the ›Banquet Roasting Pan‹, when it is still hot.
cautIon:
Please, keep in mind that the lid is made of glass. Do not pour cold water or any
other cold liquid on the lid, when it is still hot. Do not place the hot lid on any cold surface.
Otherwise, the lid could burst! It is good advice to place the lid on a clean dish towel.
note:
Via the temperature levels you can influence the browning of your food. cooking time and
temperature depend on size, amount, and type of food as well as the intended consistency.

If you wish to drain the juices, tilt the ›Banquet Roasting Pan‹ via the tilt lever. For this, fold
out the tilt lever at the bottom of the ›Banquet Roasting Pan‹, thus allowing surplus fat to
accumulate at one side of the roasting pan. See: ›Fold Out the Tilt Lever‹.
1. Prepare the appliance for operation. For this, adhere to the instructions in chapter ›Before
First Use‹. Place the appliance on a suitable large, clean, dry, and heat-resistant surface (see:
›General Safety Instructions‹), if possible, near a suitable wall power outlet. Leave at least 50
cm of free space on each side of the appliance. Ensure that the interior of the power socket
of the ›Banquet Roasting Pan‹ and the exterior of the housing are clean and dry.
2. Switch off the temperature control unit (turn temperature dial to 0). Then, with the tempe-
rature dial facing upwards, connect the temperature control unit to the power socket at the
side of the ›Banquet Roasting Pan‹. Thereafter, insert the power plug into an appropriate wall
power outlet. See: ›Important Safeguards for Electrical Appliances‹.
3. Turn the temperature dial to the demanded temperature level (see: ›Tips for Best Results‹).
The heating indicator light at the temperature control unit illuminates, when the heating ele-
ments are active. The indicator light will go out as soon as the set temperature is reached.
During operation, the heating elements will be switched on and off automatically with the
heating indicator light going on and out as well. This is because the appliance keeps the set
temperature.
4. When the appliance has reached the set temperature and the indicator light goes out, fill
in your food and close the lid.
5. After some minutes, check the doneness of your food. cook your food to the desired con-
sistency.
6. After cooking, take out your food. Then, switch OFF the appliance (turn temperature dial
to 0) and unplug from the mains power supply. Leave the appliance cool down to room tem-
perature, and then pull out the temperature control unit. clean the appliance directly after use.
Do not leave any food dry on the surfaces of the appliance. See: ›care and cleaning‹.
