3.8.1 RUNNER SHOES
The element selected depends on the type of seed (Fig. 22):
FS - runner shoe for shallow planting of vegetables and other
small seeds;
F - strip planter shoe (60 mm) to seed carrots;
DR - double row shoes (70 mm) (see paragraph 3.8.5).
TR - Triple row coulter (50 mm) (see paragraph 3.8.5).

Important! If the runner shoe does not furrow sufficiently, re-
duce the tension the spring with the crank-handle (10, Fig. 18).
Excessive wear of the planter shoe leads to irregularities in
the seed spacing.
FURROW OPENER DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
For the shoots to come up well it is important to place the seed at
the right depth on the seeding bed. The handle (Fig. 23) varies
the height of the furrow opener blade , and so determines the
depth of the furrow on which to place the seed. The graduated
indicator serves to adjust all the furrow openers at the same
depth.
Coulters are supplied in two possible configurations (Fig. 24)
depending on the seeding type:
A) Coulter for shallow seeding;
B) Coulter for deep seeding.
The front cutting edge (Fig. 24) can be easily dismantled: for both
configurations (A e B, Fig. 24) the normal seeding configuration
can be set up.
