Spring preload 3 mm (0.12 in)
Info
The spring preload is the difference between the relaxed
spring length and the tensioned spring length.
Depending on the static sag and/or the riding sag, it may be
necessary to increase or decrease the spring preload.

Install the shock absorber. ( p. 51)

Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. ( p. 42)

Preparatory work

Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 42)

Remove the shock absorber. ( p. 51)
–
After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.

Weight of rider: 15 … 25 kg
(33 … 55 lb.) 25 N/mm (143 lb/in)
Weight of rider (standard):
25 … 35 kg (55 … 77 lb.) 30 N/mm (171 lb/in)
Weight of rider: 35 … 45 kg
(77 … 99 lb.) 35 N/mm (200 lb/in)

The spring rate is shown on the outside of the spring.
Smaller weight differences can be compensated by changing
the spring preload.
