Error codes
Certain malfunctions cause an error code to appear in the display field.

Troubleshooting
The purpose of the following table is to help you identify the cause of malfunctions and suggest possible
remedies.
Cassette cannot be loaded
and/or is not taken up by
mechanism.
Recording function will not
start.
On-screen menus are not
displayed.
Sound reproduction correct,
but no image.
No playback picture.
Cassette is automatically
ejected at the start of a
timer- or alarm-activated
recording operation.
Flaching cassette symbol in
display field.
Faulty image reproduction.
Cassette incorrectly aligned.
Video recorder not connected to power
supply.
Video recorder fails to start up
automatically.
Keypad blocked.
There is already a cassette inside the
video recorder.
On-screen menus cannot be displayed
while unit is recording.
No recording on cassette.
Turn cassette right way round and insert once
more, ensuring that the transparent window is
facing upwards and the tape-protection cover
is pointing towards the recorder.
Remove cassette.
(by pressing STOP/EJECT button.)
Tracking incorrect.
Recording/playback head dirty or
misaligned.
Monitor is off.
Switch video recorder on manually (by
pressing POWER button.)
No cassette in machine.

Cassette record-protected.
Faulty connction between video recorder
and monitor.
Check power supply connection, information
display should light up dimly.
Turn LOCK switch to OFF Position to unlock
keypad.
Use another tape or disable protection by
fixing adhesive tape over hole left by snapped-
off tab on back of cassette.
Stop recording function.
Check connection lead.
Load cassette.
Switch monitor on.

Contact CBC’s Technical Service Department.
Press TRACKING button located under flap.
Try with different cassette. If fault still cannot be
remedied, contact CBC’s Technical Service
Department.
Device does not respond to
control buttons.
