10.1 Replacement of Batteries
The battery icon ( ) appears on the display
when the voltage of the memory card battery
or the battery on the RP-17 Board is low. To
find out which battery it is, conduct the diag-
nostic test as described in Paragraph 10.2.
“NG” appears as a battery check results when
battery voltage is low. When the voltage of
the battery on the RP-17 is low, marks and
waypoints stored in the internal database are
erased.
The life of the both batteries is about three
years. For replacement of the battery on the
RP-17 Board, contact your dealer.

Replacement of memory card
battery
CAUTION
Replace the battery within 10 minutes
to prevent loss of data.
Be sure the battery is inserted
"plus" side up to prevent damage to
card and equipment.
1. Slide the stopper on the memory card left-
ward.
2. Pull out the battery case and remove the
battery.
3. Insert new battery in battery case posi-
tive (+) side up.
4. Set battery case to memory card.
