TETRA™ Call station deskfocX FT4

Operation

 –

Call station: Press the PTT key and keep it pressed. Now speak to 
the subscriber at the destination. The subscriber at the destination 
hears your message. 

 –

Call station / Destination: Keep the PTT button on the call station 
pressed and request the other subscriber to reply. Release the PTT 
button once more. The other subscriber can now press the PTT 
button on his/her handset, keep it pressed and reply. 

 –

Call station / Destination (handset): A two-way conversation takes 
place if required. The subscriber who is speaking keeps the PTT 
button pressed. The subscriber who is listening leaves the PTT 
button released. 

TETRA™ emergency calls 

Should you wish to use the “TETRA™ emergency call” feature, you must 
first configure it in the call station. Use the configuration program supplied 
with the call station for the purpose of configuration. Take note of the 
compatibility of the configuration program and the firmware version of the 
call station. 

 •

In the “TETRA™ Alarm settings” GUI area of the “Subscriber” program 
window, enter the TETRA™ Emergency Call Address of the desired 
emergency call recipient as the target address. 

 •

Test the emergency call function by means of a long keystroke on the 
TETRA™ emergency call button of the call station. 

 –

Call station: The gooseneck microphone is active, the PTT button 
glows green. 

 –

Call station: Now say your emergency call text and indicate the 
reason as “TEST”! The subscriber at the emergency call destination 
hears your TEST message. 

 –

Call station / Emergency call recipient: Keep the PTT button on the 
call station pressed and request the emergency call recipient to 
reply. Release the PTT button once more. The emergency call recip-
ient can now press the PTT button on his/her handset, keep it 
pressed and reply. 

 –

Call station / Emergency call recipient (handset): A two-way emer-
gency call conversation takes place if required. The subscriber who 
is speaking keeps the PTT button pressed. The subscriber who is 
listening leaves the PTT button released.

After a successful test, the TETRA™ emergency call feature is now avail-
able for an emergency.
