5.5 Installation

5.5.1 Installing

Software

Use this function to install software updates.

CAUTION

Do not turn off the power or remove the CF card during installation as it will make it
impossible to start up the instrument.

(1) With the power off, load the CF card with the software that is to be installed on the VS-1500.

(2) Installation starts automatically as soon as the power is turned on. Installation takes a few

minutes.

(3) When the buzzer sounds and the message "Installation Finished" appears on the screen,

turn off the power.

(4) Remove the CF card.

Turn on the power and check the system version in the [Status] window in the Maintenance
menu.

5.5.2 Boot (Installation Software) Program Installation

Use this function to rewrite the boot program.

5.5.2.1 Method

CAUTION

Do not turn off the power or remove the CF card during installation as it will make it
impossible to start up the instrument.

(1) Press the (Menu) key to open the [Top Menu], then touch [Initial Setting/Maintenance]

[Boot Update] to open the [Boot Update] window.

(2) Load the CF for rewriting the boot program in the VS-1500 and touch the [Execute] key.

(3) When the boot program rewrite completes, remove the CF card and turn off the power.

(4) Turn on the power and check the boot program version in the [Status] window in the

Maintenance menu.
