Removing a memory module

Open the server as described in

section "Opening the server" on page 31

If applicable, remove the CPU 1 air duct as described in

section "Removing

air ducts" on page 56

Eject the defective memory module by pressing out the securing clips at
each end of the memory module connector.

CAUTION!

In order to satisfy cooling requirements, please note:

When removing a memory module that is not replaced immediately,
always install a memory dummy module in the empty memory slot as
described in

section "Removing / installing a memory dummy

module" on page 76
