5.9.12 Controlling the image quality of scanned data (Control Image
Tone)
To control the image quality of scanned images, follow the steps below.
Scanned data can be adjusted to be standard, soft (opaque), sharp (clear), or bright tone.
The following color tone items can be controlled manually when [Custom] is selected:
Brightness
Controls the brightness of the entire tone range uniformly.
Contrast
Sharpens or softens the image contrast.
Shadow
Darkens light text in the document.
Highlight
Controls the background brightness of white-background documents.
Gamma
Controls the brightness of the medium-tone range.
1. Select [Control Image Tone] under [Image Correction] on the scan
settings window.
The [Control Image Tone] window appears.
2. Control the color tone of scanned data.
3. When [Custom] is selected in
, specify [Brightness], [Contrast],
[Shadow], [Highlight], and [Gamma] for the displayed setting items.
4. Press the [OK] button.
The information entered is set.
