enabled, the device can only be started using an initialised SmartCard (SICRYPT,

CardOS or Fujitsu) and a personal identi

cation number (PIN). The SmartCard and PIN are

checked during system booting in the BIOS, i.e. before the operating system is started.

is preset for the PUK. For security reasons, we recommend

that you change both PIN and PUK without fail.

Additional software (e.g. Smarty) is required so that the system can also check that
the correct SmartCard is inserted while the system is running.
