Cause
The number of paths connected to a storage system exceeds the maximum allowed.
%d is a number and %s is storage system information, specifically: storage_system_name - serial_number/
Device_identification_no. - magic_code - LUN_V_of_LU_number_0 (example: ETERNUS_DXL-130011-0000-
0000)
The meaning of the last four numeric characters is different from the disk device identifier meaning
explained in
"3.3.1 Device Identification" (page 49) .
Action
Reduce the number of paths from the server to the storage system indicated by the %s to eight or fewer and
restart the server.
MPDH%d: WARNING: %s: This path was unrecognizable.
Cause
There is a path that cannot be recognized when booting up the server.
%d is numbers and %s is storage system information, specifically: storage_system_name - serial_number/
Device_identification_no. - magic_code - path_id (example: ETERNUS_DXL-130011-0000-10-10-0).
Refer to
"3.3.2 Path Identification" (page 49) for details of the path id.
Action
Check the connection status of path indicated by %s, and remove the cause of any problem. Then confirm
that the connection status is recovered using the "iompadm info" command.
If the connection status is not recovered, restart the server.
If this message is displayed for a path that is not necessary, execute the "mpdconfig -d" command to
remove the path information.

Cause
The server is connected to the storage system without redundancy (example: all paths are connected to the
same CM).
