Changing system mode
The following table contains information on the various system modes and explanations on how to
change the current system mode. To determine the current system mode, observe the power
indicator in the status display.

To enter the OFF mode, shut down the
system using the Start menu on your
system.
To change into the Suspend-to-RAM
mode or into the hibernate mode, press
the On/Resume/Suspend button or
select
Start - Shut down
.

Suspend-to-RAM
To enter the ON mode, resume system
operation by pressing the
On/Resume/Suspend button.
To enter the OFF mode, resume system
by pressing the On/Resume/Suspend
button, then shut down your system.
Is not displayed (dark)
OFF mode
or
Hibernate mode
To enter the ON mode, start your system,
or resume system operation by pressing
the On/Resume/Suspend button.
Powering up the Tablet PC
Follow the procedure below to start the Tablet PC. Before you begin, confirm that the system is in
the OFF mode. To do so, observe the Status display:
•
If the power indicator icon is not visible, the system is in OFF mode or in Hibernate mode. It is
safe to perform this procedure.
•
If the power indicator is flashing or blinking, do not perform this procedure.

Ensure that the battery in your Tablet PC is sufficiently charged, or connect an external power
source such as the power adapter or auto adapter to your Tablet PC.

Press the On/Resume/Suspend button to start the system.
After performing system initialisation, the system starts the operating system installed on the hard
disk drive. Once the operating system is running, you can use the system.
