Troubleshooting Fryers with Thermostat Controls

BURNER

DOES NOT

LIGHT.

Are any

panel lights

illuminated?

Verify Drain Valve

is fully closed.

Is pilot lit?

Problem is beyond

scope of operator

trouble shooting.

Call Service

Technician.

Attempt to light

pilot (see Chapter

3, Section 3.1).

Did pilot

light and remain

lit?

Press ON/OFF

switch OFF, then

back ON.

Did burner

light?

Press ON/OFF switch OFF.  If

there is a gas shutoff valve

external to the fryer, verify that it is

open.  Disconnect gas line

quick-disconnect fitting and

reconnect.

Attempt to light

pilot (see Chapter

3, Section 3.1).

Did pilot

light and remain

lit?

Press ON/OFF

switch OFF, then

back ON.

Did burner

light?

Problem

resolved.

Verify unit is plugged in with

main circuit breaker in ON

position.  Press ON/OFF

switch OFF, then back ON.

Are any

panel lights

illuminated?

Yes

No
