TS-LS500 Functional Testing
To confirm the LS500 AUTO-LEARN® can properly catch a 3 GPH test technicians can perform a
functionality test by using one of two methods.
1. Functionality test using a dispense to initiate test (Third Party Testing)
a. Turn off and lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) STP Circuit Breaker
b. Install a Calibrated 3gph leak generator into the manifold cover port or impact
valve port. Place the other end into an empty storage container approved for the
application (5gal Test Can).
c. Remove LOTO on the STP Circuit Breaker and apply power to the controller. Ensure
that the line comes back up.
d. Open the leak generator device to vent into the approved container.
e. Dispense from any fueling position for a minimum of 30-45 seconds.
f. After dispensing is complete, the first gross leak test will be initiated ,The lines screen
will show a gradual loss in pressure and indicate “Gross Test in Progress (Failing)” after
the first fail.
NOTE
: A gradual loss in pressure will be witnessed on web interface but “Gross Test in Progress
(Failing)” is only populated on touch screen.
NOTE
: Calibrated Leak Generator will start allowing line pressure to gradually drop off as fuel
passes into approved container.
g. Allow system to automatically run an additional test, and after two consecutive tests
the application will then disable the STP.
NOTE
: Any dispensing between first and second test will restart the two fail requirement and line
will not be disabled until two consecutive fails are recorded.
2. Once the system posts the gross leak test failure alarm, confirm that the system has
performed the positive shutdown of the appropriate STP. To confirm, lift a nozzle of the
appropriate product to ensure that the STP does not run
3. Functionality test using the EVO™ console to initiate test
a. Turn off and LOTO STP circuit breaker
b. Install a calibrated 3gph leak generator into the manifold cover port or impact
valve port. Place the other end into an empty storage container approved for the
application (5 gal Test Can).
c. Remove LOTO on the STP circuit breaker and apply power to the controller. Ensure
that the line comes back up.
