1. Safety regulations
WARNING! THIS HELMET IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE APPLICATION AT LASER WELDING
AND/OR OXYGEN AND ACETYLENE WELDINGS OR CUTTING PROCESSES
SCHNEIDVERFAHREN.
Please make sure that all safety regulations, instructions and workshop conditions are fulfilled if
welding apparatuses and accessories come to use. The helmet does not protect from
inappropriate use or improper use of tools, devices or accessories. Provide for adequate
maintenance of the helmet, protect the cassette from moisture and soilings. Replace the outside
protection screen regularly as well as every damaged or worn out part. Only use original
replacement parts. Non-licensed replacement parts can implicate risks and can cause
cancellation of guarantee. Never manipulate the cassette, do not repair yourself. Choose the
required colouring number by using the adjusting knob on the left side. Please make sure that the
selected colouring number is the right one (see colouring table) and that the outside screen is
applied correctly. Attach the frontlet so that the welding helmet is placed as deep as possible on
the head and as near as possible to the face. Only use at temperatures from –5°C to +55° C
(23° F - 131°F). The view of the automatic cassette is NOT break-proof. The helmet does not
protect against serious consequences due to inhalation of toxic damps like damps/fragments of
frictioned discs, grinding discs, stones and other grinding devices, fabrics which can explode or
corrosive liquids.
The helmet only protects eyes and face from welding sparks, spillings and from dangerous
radiation under normal welding conditions. Do not wear baggy clothes, no ties, wristwatches,
rings or other hanging jewellery. Provide for a firm standing and a good balance. Please make
sure that the ground is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes. Children and unauthorised persons
have to be kept away from the working area.
WARNING!
Do not use the helmet if it is damaged or if you think it does not work according to the rules
(contact the supplier).Only use the helmet if you have been introduced from a competent person
how to use the helmet. Do not use the helmet in moist or wet surroundings. Keep dry! When lea-
ving the working place the helmet has to be folded upwards because a bright light source can
darken the cassette unexpectedly. Never put the helmet or cassette on hot surfaces. Clean the
helmet after usage (see section 5.5) and store it at a safe and dry place where it is safe from
children. DANGEROUS! If the view does not darken immediately after inflammation, the welding
process has to be interrupted immediately. Take down the cassette and send it (or the complete
helmet) to the supplier for investigation. If you still use the helmet although you know that the
view cassette DOES NOT WORK YOUR EYES COULD get BAD which CAN CAUSE
BLINDNESS. Should a helmet still be used in spite of defective function the guarantee will be
cancelled. Any claims no matter to which insurance will expire.
