OPERATION

There are 6 different functionality modes to operate the TMFR/TSFR. Please choose one convenient to your application. Please note that the
controller is required at all times whether or not variable speed control is utilized. Speed from 500 to 3500 rpm are possible.

1

Current inrush

occurs every time, when main power supply is applied to the controller.

It is present a NTC component (2.5Ω in standard version) that has function of inrush current limiter, it reduce the initial surge of current

from the line input to the reservoir capacitor. Is suggested duty cycle with tOFF >100sec (tighten cycle cause it effectiveness reduction). The
switch-on surge, depends from input voltage, ambient and NTC temperature, is approximately 130Amps for some millisecond.

If necessary to drive the controller with a voltage bigger then 5V, for example 12V or 24V, is necessary to put in series to connection a

2200Ω 1/4W resistance.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The service connector plug is in the right position when the two polarization teeth

are faced upwards. The numbering of the service connector is the reverse of the numbering of the on

board connector (as shown in the picture). Please consider this information during the wiring phase.

ON BOARD CONNECTOR

FUNCTIONALITY MODE/INTERFACE CONNECTIONS

Preset Speed.

Upon power up, the TMFR/TSFR will spin up and

maintain preset speed according to dip switch settings. Operation
of TMFR supply is not recommended when many day cycles are
anticipated. Inrush current on startup is a characteristic of this mode
since the controller powers up each ON/OFF cycle.

ON-OFF OPTO on DIP SWITCH SETTINGS
Preset fixed speed operation by ON/OFF digital signal

The TMFR/TSFR will run at a preset speed when digital signal is
applied. In this case the main power supply is always present. The
speed is selected on startup or during operation by dip switch
settings of #2, #3, and #4 (see the table and the picture below). Pins
#3 and #4 of the 7 pin connector are used, (see table below “MODE
DIGITAL OPTO ON/OFF”). Current inrush occurs only on initial power
up, not during ON/OFF cycle.
